Summary: 

This article reviews 22 state and local education agency guidelines relating to the determination of the need for school-based PT services within the IEP team.  The guidelines are compared, and commonalities are listed with each.  A discussion and review of the variations in school-based PT services practice are reviewed, as well as a good reminder of how PT can benefit students in an educational setting, as well as a team-oriented educational goal approach.   The authors conclude with a list of 7 questions to guide procedures and decision making for the IEP team.
