Welcome to GASOPT!

SUPPORTING School Based Therapists

The Georgia Alliance of School Based Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapists (GASOPT) is a special interest group of Occupational and Physical Therapists. The purpose of the Alliance is to provide a forum for the exchange of information focusing on current practice and provide ongoing training. Our conferences provide CEU's for licensure.

Therapists receive continuing education hours for each conference. The purpose of the Alliance shall be to provide a forum for the exchange of information concerning current practice; a training vehicle to advance the current level of practice; a mechanism for developing standards of practice compatible with the needs of students in the Department of Education of Georgia and Allied Agencies.

OT's Reinstatement Policy Reminder

Just a reminder that license renewal for Occupational therapy is next year

March 2026.

Starting in 2027, all OTs will be required to maintain NBCOT certification.

You can still regain your certification by submitting your CEUs. Penalty fees

are reasonable. Please make sure you are current.

GOTA conference will be held in October and its in the mountains this year.

The Occupational therapy Licensure Compact is still a work in progress. It

was supposed to be up and running by mid-year but they are still working

on it.

Hopefully, it will be active by the time we meet again in the Spring.

No new updates on virtual OT
